2024-2025 HUD Continuum of Care Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO)

Posted on in

On Wednesday, July 31 HUD announced the largest-ever single-year investment in communities’ homelessness response systems; providing more than $3.5 billion in competitive funding to homeless services organizations across the country for supportive services and housing programs for people experiencing homelessness. And for the first time, HUD is issuing a 2-year Continuum of Care (CoC) Program Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO). Communities will now only be required to submit one application for both FY2024 and FY2025 funding. This change will dramatically simplify the application process for the Montana Continuum of Care Coalition, and project applicants.

The Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (24 CFR part 578) is designed to promote a community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; to provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals, families, persons fleeing domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and youth while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness; to promote access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs by homeless individuals and families; and to optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.
